1) What do you think you learnt from the Britney planning, filming and editing experience? It could be specific things about making a music video OR general things about the production process.
I learnt a lot from the Britney experience, one main thing we found out was how long it took us to film each shot. Some of the shots we captured took the whole lesson (1 hour) but we also managed to capture a few shots in a lesson depending on what needed filming. We would have to plan our video much more than we did for the Britney especially so we can keep to the deadline. As well as this we are going to have to plan the video because in Britney we were following something that had already been created so it was a lot easier, starting from scratch will be much more time consuming and something we are going to have to consider. The other thing I learnt through this experience was once we filmed a couple of shots was to upload it straight on the computer, this would prevent work being lost, another problem we encountered whilst filming. I learnt how to edit through the Britney experience which I felt I picked up quite well and was quite good at it, however this was also a very time consuming process in which we are going to need to plan for. I didn’t participate in the singing of the video as it was all sung by a female so I didn’t learn much from that area except that this takes a while to get it just perfect with lip synching, not laughing etc. I took part in the videoing for a lot of the project and enjoyed the experience, I also learnt a lot from it like how to set the camera up, filming from different camera and other skills.
2) For you, what part of the process did you enjoy the most?
In the Britney project I really enjoyed the filming part and the editing role, I also enjoyed working with my group as we all had different skills that we could individually use to help us. I enjoyed the filming because it a fun part of the task and it made you feel more involved that just standing around watching the video being made. The editing section was the part I enjoyed the most and again I found it very interesting, It was quite confusing at the start but once I got the hang of it I felt that I picked it up really well and was actually quite good at it.
3) How do you think the work you have done will impact on your group project?
I believe the work I did will benefit the group project because I participated in some important areas which would quite essential in the whole video coming together. When we start our final project I will hopefully work in similar areas as I did for the Britney video and produce certain work that will benefit the group.
4) What were your particular strengths?
I felt that my particular strengths were communicating and working well with the group, in the project we were put into groups of three and we needed to all work well together as a team in order to get the work done we needed, I felt I worked well with the members in my group and consider this to be one of my strengths. Another strength I found I was quite good at was the editing, once all the filming or during the filming certain parts of the video needed to be cut, changed, adjusted and I felt I done well in this area and believe this to be one of my strengths.
