How do you consume music?
There are a few different ways in which I consume music; I will occasionally buy the artists CD/Album if I really like them. However a lot of the time if I’m just after getting a single then I will use YouTube convertor or on the rare occasion download it from Itunes. The final way I might consume music is copying it from other peoples Itunes and then transferring it on to mine.
When? do you have a daily music routine? Is some music more suitable at a certain time of day than another?
I don’t really have a specific routine when I listen to music but there are definitely certain times in the day when I am listening to it for example in the morning walking to school, doing work, when I’m in the car. Other times I might listen to music depending on the mood I am in as well.
Where? clubs, bedroom, gigs, car?
There are many different places I listen to music: outside when walking or running, in the car when I’m driving somewhere, if I go out to a bar/club, in my room, festivals, loads of different places in which I would listen to music.
Who with? do you share your music or is it an individual experience?
I would either listen to music on my own or with a group of friends, again it depends where or what I’m doing so for example if I’m walking somewhere or in the car on my own it would be an individual experience whereas if I was with a group of friends e.g. at a festival then I’m obviously going to be sharing the music.
How? radio, computer, ipod, tv, live, dancing, homework, getting ready ie doing other things - background wallpaper
Again there are several different places in which I listen to music the main one comes from my ipod or on the radio. On certain occasions I will go and see someone perform live and also listen to music being played at work and things like that.
Why? What are the pleasures associated with music consumption? What does it offer the audience and what needs does it gratify?
I listen to music for different reasons when I’m on my own I will listen to it so I’m not bored and it’s something to listen to as a form of companionship. Also if I was to go out I would always listen to music when getting ready this does get me in a mood to go out, wake me up or just put me in a better mood to go out. There are definitely other occasions in which I will listen to music this could include cheering me up, getting me in a better mood or just because I’m in the mood to listen to something whilst doing something else e.g. whilst at work or writing up a piece of homework etc.

Day 11: 21/10/2011
This lesson we finally managed to record our voice over for our storyboard, we all read a section of the script out and then when we got back into the media room we uploaded it onto Adobe Premier Pro (the software we use for editing). There were a couple of things in the recording that needed to be cropped/cut for example a cough. When we uploaded it we needed to try and synch it so it fitted with the song and the storyboard, this involved us having to cut bits and speed things up or slow them down. As well as this our voice over was much longer than our shots we had to create a title to last a few seconds in order to take up a bit of time.

Day 10: 18/10/2011
Today Sarah and Mike continued with the storyboard and editing it to fit the music, however we encountered a problem when doing it. The storyboard and music all fitted quite well apart from we still had some music left over and no scenes left, this meant we had to draw up a couple more scenes to fit into the end of the music video. Sarah decided that we are going to add a few performance shots towards the end of the video. Whilst they did that I wrote the script for the voice over and managed to finish it by the end of the lesson. The voice over basically describes the scene and informs the viewer of things that can't be seen this will also include why we have done this and the reasons for it.

Day 9: 12/10/2011
Managed to finally finish off the website today, we created a website for our artist on a website maker called moonfruit. We chose this site as it was different to others and we felt it had somne really good features that could make our website more unique and better than other peoples.
Bellow is a print screen of the home page, it has a few pictures of Hugo performing and also has the Atlantic Records logo. Unfortunately some of it had to be cropped but usually on the website it wouldn't be like that.

We also have other links to different pages on our site these include: rates in which displays venues, dates and prices of things, a contact page, a login page so in order to buy things and get more information you have to become a memeber, and a photo gallery.

Day 8: 07/10/2011
Today we created a twitter acount for our star "Hugo" we added a profile picture of our artist, we also sent several posts to some of the famous stars we are following one being Ed Sheeran with the hope of getting a retweet. We have only got a few followers at the moment but the account has only been up for a few hours.

Whilst I was creating the twitter page Sarah and Mike were working on the storyboards, Mike has done most of the drawings for it but Sarah also did a few of them to help him out. Once all the storyboards were created Sarah done a video recording of the storyboards in which is going to be edited and then added to the music we are going to be using. By doing this we get an idea if the story/clips goe with the music but we might also think of some more ideas when we actually see what it would look like as a storyboard . As well as this we also found one of the locations we are going to film, we have decided on using Parliament Hill Hampstead Heath, this has a huge field on a hill with a bench that overlooks London.

Day 7: 04/10/2011
Today we began our storyboard, we used a bit of paper divided into two to draw the image of the shot we were going to use. Underneath the image we had several different headings like what type of shot and setting etc. Mike did most of the drawing whilst me and Sarah were planning out the storyboards and what images we were going to be drawn. We only managed to draw about 4 or 5 images but we now know all the pictures that need to be drawn and the order they are going to be for the storyboard.

Final Video Concept
The video begins with the view of a man on top of a hill at sunset sitting on a bench holding a whisky bottle, he unscrews the cap of the bottle, the camera zooms into his watch, the camera then pans up to the horizon. there is then a fast forwarded shot of the horizon which shows the sun getting higher in the sky and turning to morning.From here onwards the video is shot in the first person;
there is then a straight cut to view of the ceiling, with half seconds of black to simulate blinking. the camera then turns to show a view of the alarm clock (showing that it is the same day), a hand reaches out and turns off the alarm. both hands cover the screen and it fades from black to a shot of a woman across the table.
she pushes forward a piece of paper and a pen, the camera pans down and zooms in on the word DIVORCE PAPERS at the top. The camera pans up and the woman mouths the words "im sorry but it isnt working out", a hand extends towards her, she pushes back her chair, she then mouths the words "its too late for that, im sorry", she places her ring on the table and the camera follows her to the door, it pans back to the table and the ring, the hand then picks up the pen, the camera pans down to the bottom of the piece of paper and he signs his name.
another shot of a signature on a piece of paper is faded in as the other fades out (graphic match). The camera pans out and up the paper to show the words CONTRACT TERMINATION and up to show a man, sitting opposite him in a chair wearing a suit and tie. The boss mouths the words "im sorry mate but its for the best", he bends down, picks up a cardboard box of things and slides it across the table. Hands come out and pick up the box, the camera goes backwards and up, the camera turns to look at the door (the box is still in shot).
-- if we need to fill time we could do a shot of him walking down the corridor, with peoples reactions, to the door to exit the building ---
A shot of a front door to a house will fade in, while the previous shot fades out (graphic match). A hand reaches out and trys to turn the key in the lock, it clearly doesnt work. the camera turns to show a shot of the path, then turns to view the house again, it zooms in on an upstairs window where the ex wife is shown looking at him, another man then appears next to her and they step away from the window. the camera zooms out of the window and pans down to show an open hand holding the ring, the hand throws it into a flower bed, the camera zooms into the flower.
a shot of a flower fades in as the previous shot fades out (graphic match). the camera zooms out and up to show a shot of a hill at sunset, the camera is walked up the hill and sits on the bench, there is then a shot of the horizon. the camera pans down and there is a bottle of whisky in one hand, he unscrews the bottle and lifts the bottle (gives the impression of drinking). the bottle comes back into shot, half empty.
there is a straight cut, to a very zoomed in shot of the man, the camera zooms out all the way to reveal the man laying on the floor next to the bench.
-- we did discuss possibly adding a montage here of quick cut shots of what happens to him this night, with shots of the important events of the day eg. the ring in his hand, his wife and another man, the words contract termination on paper. ---
